Independent Science Serving Public Health Since 1931
Founded in 1931 as a governmental entity, the Swiss Vitamin Institute (SVI) began with a clear mission: to ensure independent testing of vitamins in vitamin enriched products sold in Switzerland for consumer protection.




In 1995, following changes in the food regulatory framework in Switzerland, SVI became a public utility foundation dedicated to advancing nutrition research and analytical testing on vitamins. 2021 was a key year marking the celebration of the 90’ SVI anniversary and the birth of the Swiss Nutrition and Health Foundation (SNHf). SNHf succeeds then SVI in its the public utility mission on the development of knowledge in nutrition and health now embracing the full range of nutritional components beyond vitamins.

We believe independent science is key to improving public health. We seek collaborative efforts using science to develop trustful relationships with our partners. "Anchoring trust through science" is our philosophy. Our overarching goal is to turn science into translatable solutions to empower people making informed dietary choices for sustainable and preventative health.
